Since companies like to hire a known quantity, they often ask around for employee recommendations before a job becomes public.
That often means that you need to know someone to get the job. Just applying to jobs will only get you so far, you need a strong network if you want to make your job search faster and easier….which is a good thing. Why? Let’s face it, job searching is the *least amount* of fun you can have while awake. 🙂
